Once there had been a ruler in the old Iran who was named King Ebad Khan "Malik Ebad Khan" who was then ousted by another regime/ruler at the time. He then migrated to Afghanistan-Kabul's district of Charasyab "Four Grindmills" where he made a forte and settled. Followers and decedents of the King in Iran adopted surname “Ebadi” and decedents of the King Ebad Khan too adopted the surname Ebadi. One of the Kings sons, Malik Baqa Khan's descendants, now have adopted the surname "Baqayee" which is a big a family as Ebadis. - Source: Wikipedia
