Obama acts as though we no longer have a Constitution
Tony Blankley died this weekend after a long battle with cancer. His passing is a sad loss for America, the nation's capital and The Washington Times, all of which he served with great honor and decency. He was editorial page editor of this newspaper for five years. His example, wisdom and political perspective will continue as guiding lights for the work we do here.
You might have seen the vicious Mediscare video by now entitled "America the Beautiful." If you haven't, you should. It's from folks who just the other day were chanting the mantra of "civility." It's a taste of what the left will be serving up as 2012 approaches.
Opponents of New York Republican Rep. Peter King's hearings on domestic Muslim extremism have tried to make the controversy into a civil rights battle. The more the left obfuscates the issue, the more dangerous the threat becomes.
Charles B. Rangel is the 23rd member of the House of Representatives to face censure, though his attitude suggests his day of reckoning was just another day at the office.
Nov. 2 is the nation's referendum on Obamacare. No other issue has so polarized the public and shed light on the policy failings of the left. The midterm elections represent the last, best hope for millions of Americans who don't want to see the health care law's most onerous provisions ever take effect.
