As President Obama traveled abroad, Vice President Joe Biden had a fairly quiet week after a busy trip to South America the week before, but he’s ramping up this week.
Biden will throw out the first pitch tonight at the opening game of the Baltimore Orioles (POTUS will do first pitch at Nationals home opener next week).
He’ll be joined by 8 children from the Baltimore Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities League, a charity founded by MLB that aims to increase participation in baseball and teach the value of teamwork, among other things.
The sun seems to finally be out in Washington, so hopefully the O’s game against the Yankees won’t be rained out.
Tomorrow, Biden will appear on CNN’s “Situation Room.”
On Wednesday, he’s hitting the road again for a visit to Fort Bragg in North Carolina.
He and Jill Biden will welcome home the XVIII Airborne Corps back from their second deployment to Iraq since 2006.
This is the vice president’s second trip to the Tarheel State - he was there last week for an event tied to the stimulus money.
Obama visited North Carolina to announce his plan for withdrawing troops from Iraq.
