Delegate Charniele Herring, Alexandria Democrat, has been appointed House Minority Whip, the caucus announced Tuesday.

“I am pleased to serve as the Democratic whip in the House of Delegates,” Ms. Herring said. In this role, I will collaborate on legislation with our leadership and fight for our Democratic values. I am honored to be appointed as the Democratic whip and look forward to the work ahead.”

As whip, Ms. Herring will coordinate and manage floor activity for the party during session, where their ranks will be depleted to 32 members out of the 100-member body come January, and coordinate the Democratic caucus’s committee whips.
