The U.S. Attorney’s office has released an audio tape of former Prince George’s County Executive Jack Johnson telling wife Leslie Johnson to stuff cash into her underpants and flush a $100,000 check down the toilet, as two FBI agents are knocking on the couple’s front door.
Ms. Johnson, a member of the Prince George’s County Council, pleaded guilt this summer to a felony charge of conspiracy to commit witness and evidence tampering, in connection with a federal corruption investigation of her husband.

Mr. Johnson, Democrat, pleaded guilty in May to engaging developers in a “pay-to-play” situation so they could do business with the county. His term has expired.
Ms. Johnson, a Democrat, resigned this summer after pleading guilty to the charges. She is set to be sentenced Dec. 9.
The agents allegedly found $79,000 stuffed in Ms. Johnson’s bra after entering the couple’s Mitchellville home.
