Maryland football coach Ralph Friedgen canceled the team’s second practice of the day.

Words guaranteed to be heard after tomorrow’s scrimmage from Ralph: “Maybe I’m mellowing/getting softer in my old age.”

That scrimmage, by the way, is open to the media. And since it’s expected to be in Byrd Stadium, it won’t be nearly as difficult to track as last week’s.

That’s because there are seats above the field. Which means trying to look over larger people won’t be an issue.

Which, in turn, is pretty good.

Anyway, if Ralph’s given his team the rest of the day off, I’m going to go ahead and give myself the evening off as well (barring catrastrophe). I’ll check back in tomorrow with more nuggets from Maryland.
