Yep, it’s a slow news day in the dead of summer, and I’ve been working on another story today, hence the shortage of blog posts.

Here’s what was missed: The Maryland-Indiana game on Dec. 1 will receive the ESPN2 treatment at 7:30 p.m.

Really, it’s not much of a surprise. It makes sense ESPN would want potential top-10 teams Duke, Michigan State, North Carolina and Purdue on the mothership. That leaves room for only one other matchup —- the Illinois-Clemson tussle on Dec. 2 that will provide a look at a month’s worth of orange for viewers.

It’s also an upgrade from a year ago, when the Terps faced Michigan on the then-relatively-unavailable ESPNU. The two games tossed onto the U are Northwestern-N.C. State and Minnesota-Miami —- not exactly a bitter rivalry in either case.

Anyway, that’s a Maryland schedule snippet for the day. The entire thing came out in late August last year, so it’ll probably be another six weeks until the whole thing is completely figured out.
