It’s probably not too-well-remembered, but coach Craig Robinson —- i.e. the brother of Barack Obama‘s wife —- and Oregon State opened their season last year at Howard, less than two weeks after Obama’s election.
It ended poorly for the Beavers, who nonetheless rebounded from that shaky start (and an abysmal 2007-08) to win the CBI and post a .500 record.
Anyway, Robinson is again returning to D.C., with a Nov. 28 date at George Washington. The game time is not yet known.
Only a small percentage of college basketball schedules are finalized, and pretty much none of the schools in the D.C. area have released a full slate.
Even still, another visit from Robinson (and the potential that it could attract a high-powered fan who happened to pass on last year’s trip to Howard) that game could be among the most fascinating played in the area next season.
