A little bit of late-night doings worth passing along this morning …

Virginia will remember its first superregional trip for sometime. After all, you don’t beat the ordained No. 1 draft pick one night and the nation’s top-ranked team on its home field the next two without doing some interesting things.

The Cavaliers did it with pitching, yielding two runs over three games to advance to play either Mississippi or Western Kentucky next weekend.

Virginia is one of three ACC teams —- along with Florida State and North Carolina —- to move alone; Clemson and Georgia Tech could do the same with victories tonight.
