Just a quick note I noticed while scanning Al Gore’s Invention this evening.

Former Maryland coach Lou Saban died this morning at age 87.

Saban made no shortages of coaching stops, including a one-year stint in College Park (1966) between AFL gigs.

For you youngins, that’s the American Football League, not the arena league.

In any case, Saban was football’s answer to Larry Brown, a capable coach who rarely stayed in one place for long —- as the one-year stint with the Terps supports
