This back-and-forth between myself and Maryland coach Ralph Friedgen on Thursday holds up better as a Q&A than anything else.  …

PS: Is there a chance you think we might see more fullback carries coming up?

RF: Would you like that?

PS: I don’t know. I was just kind of curious at this point. You’ve been asked about everything else [in the backfield] at this point.

RF: That’s a good suggestion. I’ll see what we can do about that.

PS: I’ll waive my usual honoraria.

RF: You can tell everybody in the press box that was your idea. It was like [Wednesday] night, I went to the radio show. A bunch of people were waitong outside. They said ‘Coach, we sit in section 36, row B, whatever.’ I said ‘You were the guys booing me, right?’ They said ‘No, no. But we didn’t think that was a good call on fourth down.’ I said ‘How many of you thought that wasn’t a good call after we didn’t make it. They said ‘We agree with the call to go outside with [Davin] Meggett. That was a good call.’ If you have any suggestions, I’m down on the sidelines. Just kind of text me.

Good thing Ralph doesn’t have to play Louisiana State. Those Tigers fans might just take him up on the offer.
