Maryland coach Ralph Friedgen dropped a poignant nugget during his radio show tonight, mentioning the Terrapins will wear a helmet sticker featuring Jack Heise‘s initials for the rest of the season.
Heise, an alum and long-time Maryland supporter who was a staple at games and practices for decades, died Monday night.

Both Friedgen and broadcaster Johnny Holliday reminisced about Heise during a segment. Friedgen recited from memory a letter of support and encouragement from Heise —- pretty much something Heise did weekly —- that was presumably written Sunday but not received until today.
