Just got word that true freshman Bennett Fulper will get the nod at left guard today over Lamar Young.
It’ll be the first time a true freshman started on Maryland’s offensive line since 2005 (Jared Gaither), and the first time a true freshman started on the interior of the line in Ralph Friedgen‘s tenure.

Fulper’s made quick strides since arriving back in early June, and it’s clear he’s one of the best linemen the Terps have signed in the last few years. He’ll get a chance to show just how good he is this season —- especially after climbing the depth chart so quickly.
