In the past, Maryland has occasionally brought injured players on road trips. The decision to take Jaimie Thomas to N.C. State two seasons ago certainly stands out.
But will Nolan Carroll (broken tibia) be so fortunate? That’s yet to be determined, but the 72-man limit for travel rosters for conference games will definitely be an issue.

“The problem I’ve got now is I’ve got limitations,” coach Ralph Friedgen said. “But Nolan asked to go out for the coin toss, and I’m going to let him do that. He’ll watch the game from the academic center so he’s not standing on his leg the entire time.”
Still, he’ll be there, which should be a slight emotional boost for the Terrapins.
More importantly, Carroll’s desire to fulfill that part of his captaincy suggests he’ll take up Friedgen’s request to remain heavily involved with the team throughout the rest of his final season.
