Lots of people —- Maryland coach Ralph Friedgen among them —- are interested to see if Rutgers quarterback Tom Savage plays Saturday against the Terrapins.

And the answer is … still unknown, per the Home News Tribune of central New Jersey.

After today’s practice, Rutgers coach Greg Schiano told reporters, “I think he will [play], but we’ll wait and see how he feels.”

Savage took an open-field hit in Saturday’s defeat of Florida International, sustaining impact both on contact with a defender and when he hit the turf. He’s thrown no interceptions in 64 attempts this season.

This has all the hallmarks of the dreaded game-time decision, with senior Dom Natale (who started the opener for the Scarlet Knights) the obvious primary alternative.
