It was barely a month ago that Maryland football coach announced nose tackle Dion Armstrong would be leaving the program after battling academic issues.

Turns out he landed in Kansas —- home to plenty of solid junior colleges and a second chance at a career.

But not just any JUCO. Armstrong is playing for Butler Community College, which according to the program’s site has won back-to-back national titles.

Armstrong’s player page says that in two games, he has seven tackles, including one for loss.

It’s a long way from College Park, but at least the sophomore has a chance to revitalize his career after his stint at Maryland was scuttled almost before it ever really got started.
