Tate missed the last eight games a season ago with a knee injury, then the first three games this season with a different knee injury.

Tate was listed as probable for today’s game.

Among other pregame items …

* Wide receiver Kerry Boykins, who will not play because of a hamstring injury, was one of 66 players to make the trip.

* Joe Vellano (foot) is dressed after being listed as probable. He will likely start (as usual) on the defensive line.

* Defensive back A.J. Hendy, listed as probable with an ankle injury, did not make the trip. Hendy spent all of the week on the scout team and coach Randy Edsall all but said Thursday that Hendy would not play.

* Of the 48 Terps who played in last week’s loss to Connecticut, only guard Peter White did not make the trip. White filled in for De’Onte Arnett on the field goal/PAT team against the Huskies.
