We’re through one week of the NHL season, so it is time for our first update of the Scribes League, a fantasy hockey league involving four members of The Washington Times and The Washington Post.
Each week, we’ll post the standings here and then go in-depth with one team owner on how the season is going. This week, we’ll start with my team since that’s the easiest way to do it.
SEE RELATED:
This is an eight-team league with goals, assists, penalty minutes, plus-minus, power-play points, wins, saves, and goals against average.

Analysis: Lusk was a formidable performer in this league before it went mainstream and continues to be strong. Looks like the girls have some catching up to do.

Analysis: I really liked my draft, but so far my biggest problem has been guys like Selanne and Morrow having huge games on the bench. I grabbed my two goalies early and got two elite defensemen before waiting to add some other d-men late.
Best pick (after draft): Mikko Koivu
Worst pick (after draft): Mike Smith
Best pick (to this point): Dany Heatley
Worst pick (to this point): Nathan Horton
