The killing of Osama bin Laden really did bring everybody together.

Real-estate mogul Donald Trump issued a “personal” congratulations to President Obama on Monday. He called on Americans of both parties to come together in celebration and remembrance and to avoid partisan score-settling in the terrorist leader’s death.

“I want to personally congratulate President Obama and the men and women of the Armed Forces for a job well done,” said Mr. Trump, who shot to the front of Republican presidential polling in significant part by questioning Mr. Obama’s birth certificate and saying the president may have been hiding something.

“I am so proud to see Americans standing shoulder to shoulder, waving the American flag in celebration of this great victory,” he said in a statement to ABC News.

“We should spend the next several days not debating party politics, but in remembrance of those who lost their lives on 9/11 and those currently fighting for our freedom. God Bless America!”
