President Obama dined Thursday night at the Liberty Tavern in Arlington with four winners of a raffle sponsored by his re-election campaign.

The president had dinner with Juanita Martinez, a retired teacher from Brighton, Colo.; Wendi Smith, an artist from Corydon, Ind.; Ken Knight, a postal worker from Chandler, Ariz.; and Casey Helbling, a small-business owner from Minneapolis.

The winners were chosen from those who responded to campaign emails from Mr. Obama asking them to “bring is your story and your ideas about how we can continue to make this a better country for all Americans.” The campaign used it as a pitch to raise money; supporters were asked to donate at least $3 to Mr. Obama’s re-election fund.

The president said the evening will offer him the opportunity to have “the kind of casual meal among friends that I don’t get to have as often as I’d like anymore.”

Winners received round-trip coach airfare as part of their prize, as well as one night’s stay in a local hotel.
