A new Rasmussen Reports poll shows that former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney continues to lead his Republican presidential rivals by a wide margin in New Hampshire, home to the nation’s first primary.
The telephone survey of likely GOP voters shows Mr. Romney with 41 percent support, while Georgia businessman Herman Cain gains 17 percent of the vote and Texas Rep. Ron Paul pulls in 11 percent support.
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich received support from 8 percent, and former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman won 7 percent. Texas Gov. Rick Perry, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum and Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, whose New Hampshire campaign team quit last week, all received under 5 percent support there.
