As companies tighten their belts in this economic downturn, older, more experienced workers are less likely to be included in cutbacks than younger workers, Businessweek is reporting.

Baby boomers are retaining their jobs in significant numbers, and unemployment among older workers is far lower than it is among younger workers.

How does that old saying go?  Age before … whatever it is you young people got.

You know, it wasn’t a youngster who said that age and experience will beat youth and exuberance every time.  I don’t know if that’s true, but these days I like to think it is.
