The Washington Mystics selected Kristin Haynie with the sixth pick of the Sacramento Monarchs’ dispersal draft today.
Haynie averaged 3.1 points and 1 assist in about 11 minutes last season with Detroit and Sacramento. The 5-8 product of Michigan State figures to battle with Nikke Blue for backup point guard duties.

“She has been a solid back-up point guard in this league for the last several years and we feel that she complements Lindsey Harding and our perimeter nucleus,” general manager Angela Taylor said. “Her size, ability to shoot the ball, and rebounding from the guard position are nice assets to add.”
