UPDATE 2 - The White House has moved the briefing to 1:30 p.m.

UPDATE - The first White House briefing will be at 12:45 p.m.

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs will hold his first daily briefing today, just after noon, an Obama aide said this morning.

An executive order that would close the Guantanamo Bay prison is expected to be released shortly before the briefing.

The order is likely to come at the end President Obama‘s meeting with retired military generals at the White House.

Some of the retired military officials in the meeting will include retired Army Maj. Gen. Paul D. Eaton; retired Navy Rear Adm. John D. Hutson, JAGC; retired Navy Vice Adm. Lee Gunn; and Elisa Massimino, the executive director of Human Rights First.

Ten or 11 other former military officers will be at the meeting as well, said Jessica Rosenblum, a HRF spokeswoman.

HRF has convened a group of retired military to focus on the detainee issue for the past two years, according to a release.
