UPDATE - 2:24 P.M. - The American Life League has clarified what they mean by “conversion.”

“Conversion to the fullness of the Christian faith includes a defense of human life,” e-mails spokeswoman Katie Walker.

The American Life League, a pro-life organization headquartered in Stafford, Va, and closely affiliated with the Catholic faith, has sent out a baseball card to its mailing list asking people to pray for “the conversion of President Barack Obama.”

The back of the card lists a “prayer to St. Paul.”

“Let the power of St. Paul’s intercession bring about the conversion of President Barack Obama to the fullness of your grace. Help the president to recognize the personhood of all human beings — born and preborn,” it says.

Turns out this idea has been around for a while. A website called ConvertObama.com, also run by pro-life Catholics, started up much earlier this year.

Obama, of course, considers himself converted already to Christianity. I’ve asked ALL, which has a membership of around 300,000, what specifically they hope the president is converted to, and I’ll post that response when I get it.
