In another example of the left projecting their issues on to conservatives comes the latest report about the brutal attack on a Louisiana Republican fundraiser and her boyfriend outside a fundraising event where Louisiana’s Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal was in attendance.

Yahoo News reports the following:

Last Friday night, Allee Bautsch, the chief fundraiser for Louisiana’s Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal, was violently assaulted, along with her boyfriend, outside of a famed New Orleans restaurant. Reports on the incident remain murky, but a source close to Bautsch tells Yahoo! News that they were politically motivated and that Bautsch has been hospitalized for days to treat her injuries.

The piece also includes a disturbing quote from a NOPD Public Information Officer:

That account has not been confirmed, but Yahoo! News spoke to a friend of Allee Bautsch who’s been in communication with her since the attack. The friend, who declined to be named because the attackers are still at large, described the group who descended on Bautsch and Brown as “some weird Bobby Jindal protesters” there in opposition to the state’s governor. The friend confirmed the earlier reports that Bautsch “got caught in the middle” of the altercation as she tried to break it up. Bautsch’s friend also reported that she’s in “loads of pain” with “rods in her leg and ankle,” but that she was also “released yesterday from the hospital and is resting at her home in Baton Rouge.”

While other details of the incident are still being fleshed out, according to blogger Pat Dollard, NOPD Public Information Officer Bob Young said the assault “was of a political nature.” However, Young, again according Dollard, later back-tracked to say he wasn’t sure and has now denied the confirmation to Politico’s Ben Smith (see updates below). In addition, eyewitnesses to the incident have variably described the assailants as appearing to be left-wing activists or anarchists. While attention has recently focused on threats and anger among conservative activists opposing health care reform, the attack on Bautsch and Brown appears to be an ugly reminder that vicious behavior exists on all sides of the political spectrum.

This is not the first time physical attacks of a political nature from the left have been reported. Kenneth Gladney, a vendor at a St. Louis town hall event hosted by Missouri Congressman Russ Carnahan, a Democrat, was beaten up by SEIU members last summer.

“Like Jim Treacher said, if Gladney was an Obama supporter, right now he’d be more famous than Rodney King.”

At a September 2009 health care protest in Los Angeles, a left-wing supporter of Obamacare bit the finger off of a 65-year-old man.
Newsbusters has a massive list of left-wing violence in the last few years:
  • It was not the fear of conservative violence that caused Ann Coulter’s speech to be cancelled this week.
  • It was a liberal who bit the finger off a man who disagreed with him on healthcare.
  • It was Obama-loving Amy Bishop who took a gun to work and murdered co-workers.
  • Joseph Stack flew his plane into the IRS building after writing an anti-conservative manifesto.
  • It was liberals who destroyed AM radio towers outside of Seattle.
  • It’s liberals who burn down Hummer dealerships.
  • It was progressive SEIU union thugs who beat a black conservative man who spoke his mind.
  • It’s doubtful that a conservative fired shots into a GOP campaign headquarters.
  • In fact, Democrats have no monopoly on having their offices vandalized.
  • Don’t forget it was Obama’s friend Bill Ayers who used terrorism as a tool for political change. SDS is still radical, with arrests in 2007 and the storming of the CATO Institute in July 2008.
  • It was a liberal who was sentenced to two years for bringing bombs and riot shields to the Republican National Convention in 2008.
  • It was a liberal who threatened to kill a government informant who infiltrated her Austin-based group that planned to bomb the RNC.
  • It was liberals who assaulted police in Berkeley.
  • It was liberals who intimidated and threw rocks through the windows of researchers.
  • The two Black Panthers who stood outside polls intimidating people with nightsticks were probably not right-wingers.
  • Every time the G20 gets together, it’s not conservatives who destroy property and cause chaos.
  • Yet outlets like MSNBC continue to perpetuate the myth that conservatives are naturally violent. The left will simply take incidents like the ones listed above and fill in the perpetrator as being a crazy right-winger. Projection issues much, folks?
