In the midst of music artists and bands like Elvis Costello, the Pixies and Devendra Banhart who are canceling shows in Israel over the country’s politics. However, Elton John has risen above them all and stuck to his concert date performance on Thursday in Israel. Haaretz reports:

John said that no one could have stopped him from coming to perform in Israel. “We’re spreading peace and love on this stage and we’re happy to be here,” he said.


It appears Mr. John is finding more fans among conservatives. The British singer performed at Rush Limbaugh’s recent wedding reportedly wowing the crowd with each tune he sang. 

Regarding the Limbaugh wedding, Mr. John’s partner, John Furnish, told People Magazine, “John also saw it as another opportunity, in his words, to go where people wouldn’t expect me to go.’”
