The 11 House Democrats led by Rep. Bart Stupak who dropped their opposition to health care reform mere hours before the final vote have requested $3.4 billion in earmarks — and one watchdog group wants to know whether the money represents business as usual, or a political payoff.
It is an unfortunate fact of modern American politics that right wing movements are demonized as racists by their political opponents with a lot of help from the media. The most recent such incident was the claim that black congressmen had been called racist terms and spit on by tea party activists before the ObamaCare vote.

But wait. If Democratic enthusiasm is surging due to passage of O-Care, how can it be that the GOP’s actually gaining on the generic ballot? This was the left’s big argument, after all — that only by ramming that beast through and energizing the base could they save themselves in November.
