Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum made two campaign stops in New Hampshire on Friday, where he found himself, once again, defending his beliefs regarding same-sex marriage and his past support for the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. in the clip above, Mr. Santorum spoke to secondary school students at the Dublin School in Dublin, New Hampshire. One student went as far to call Mr. Santorum a “war monger” during an intense back and forth with the Senator.

During an early evening campaign stop in Manchester, Senator Santorum spoke to a crowd that was meant to be at a local restaurant. However, crowd size was so large, the event was moved to the food establishment’s parking lot where Occupy protester’s were waiting with signs in hand. Senator Santorum addressed the crowd but was interrupted by hecklers every so often. He managed to get through his remarks and take questions by both his supporters and detractors.

Santorum campaign spokesman Hogan Gidley later spoke to me at a Republican dinner in Nashua, and I asked if the constant criticisms on the campaign trail at the venues are taking a toll on Mr. Santorum.

“That’s part of the process. It’s funny, after we get back in the car and after getting some tough questions he just smiles and says,‘This is America. How great is this?’,” said Mr. Gidley.

“Sure we don’t necessarily agree with people shouting out or being angry, but still, the bottom line is you get to do that. It’s America. You got to have a candidate who is willing to stand up to the tough questions in all venues. The president is the president of all the people not just the little groups and their little buddies and pals. You’ve got to govern everybody,” Gidley added.
