Elliott and Allgaier Score Martinsville Victories in Cup and Xfinity Action

MARTINSVILLE, Va. — Chase Elliott scored the earliest win of his NASCAR Cup Series career with a hard-fought victory over Denny Hamlin at Martinsville Speedway, taking control in the closing stages to beat the veteran in one of the season’s most competitive short-track battles, while Justin Allgaier survived a massive late-race pileup to win the wild NFPA 250 in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. Allgaier stayed out of trouble while others crashed around him to claim the victory. (Photo: Hannah Tallant | All-Pro Reels)
