The half-brother of a black man found hanged in a Southern California park has been killed by Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies who say he opened fire on them. The Sheriff's Department says the man was sought for spousal assault and he began shooting when detectives tried to stop his car Wednesday, June 17, 2020 in the desert community of Rosamond about 80 miles north of Los Angeles. A family attorney identified the man as Terron J. Boone, Robert Fuller's half-brother. Fuller was found hanging from a tree in nearby Palmdale last week. Hegseth joins veterans, generals to mark 80th anniversary of battle of Iwo Jima
A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
