SOMONAUK, Ill. (AP) - A 30-year-old old man who nearly was struck by a police car while walking toward traffic has been arrested after officers learned he was wanted for driving on a suspended license.

The (DeKalb) Daily Chronicle reports that police say the Sheridan man was wearing dark clothing and walking in the street about 1:50 a.m. Saturday in Somonauk, southwest of Chicago.

Officers later learned that a warrant had been issued after the man failed to appear for a hearing in a DeKalb County court.
