OPINION:
I arrived in the United States 42 years ago. At the time, I was shocked at the poor standard of education. I cannot remember the exact percentage of high school graduates with poor knowledge of the three “R’s” (reading, writing and arithmetic), but it was staggeringly high.
Now, all these years later, the quality of education has only got worse.
Almost two generations have been born, and what has the country gotten from this mass of uneducated citizens? Nothing but stupid voters. All the previous generations went through serious times fighting communism, socialism and all the other “isms” that have never been any benefit to any nation adopting them.
Yet here we are, with the United States of America about to fall into the clutches of socialist-communist-extremist control. This power at the expense of freedom and liberty can be attributed only to the abysmal state of the American education system.
Huge sums of money have been thrown into it, only to result in millions of sadly ignorant individuals, and they are the ones about to take us into a political dark age.
The decline began with the election of Sens. Bernard Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and their ilk, as well as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the rest of the “Squad.” Now, the people running for office are even more radical, and we have the very real possibility of the so-called Democratic Party gaining control of both houses of Congress.
We are one election away from the total loss of freedom. Wake up, America. Do not let the “stupids” win.
