OPINION:
In 1962, nearly two decades before he became president, Ronald Reagan switched political parties while working as a spokesperson for General Electric. Of the change, he said: “I didn’t leave the Democratic Party. The Democratic Party left me.”
He knew all too well that increasing interventionism and leftist political ideology were about to spell trouble for the country.
How right he was!
Today, the far left and extreme interventionism are the Democratic Party’s foundation. This portends poorly for all of us. The modern Democratic Party has no respect for the U.S. Constitution.
With the Republican midterm convention having just concluded, we are reminded of what an important role our national security, justice system, social mores and economy play in these United States.
We must remember that the Republican Party stands for individual liberty, accountable governance and love of and pride in our country.
America always has been and always will be stronger than socialism.
