Amazon Prime Video has canceled the female buddy action comedy “Ride or Die” after one season.
The series follows longtime best friends Debbie Claybourne (Octavia Spencer) and Judith Burton (Hannah Waddingham) as they go on the run after Judith, who is secretly an international assassin, botches an assignment.
The show, which features Ed Skrein, Calam Lynch, Savannah Steyn, Jamie Parker, Jacky Ido, Sylvia Hoeks and Bill Nighy, premiered on Prime Video in July, with all eight episodes released at once.
The series is now being shopped to other potential buyers.
Tessa Coates created the show, with executive producers Matt Miller and director Peyton Reed.
The cancellation came as a surprise, given the show’s strong performance, including its run on Nielsen’s streaming charts and largely positive reviews.
No public explanation has been given for the show’s cancellation.
