Brett Kavanaugh’s coming, Democrats or no Democrats

Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh's Senate hearings for the Supreme Court fitness are scheduled for this week and thanks to the end of the filibuster for Supreme Court nominees, he'll be confirmed, sooner or later. He only needs a majority. Say hello to a solidly conservative leaning high court for the foreseeable future.

‘First Man’ a disgrace to patriotic Americans

A biographical film about Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk the moon -- and an American, mind you -- will notably, face-slappingly, leave out the triumphant moment the U.S. flag was planted on lunar soil.

A.I.’s dark and dirty hacking truths

The headline from RiskandInsurance.com says it all: "Machine Learning Could Make Hackers Practically Unstoppable: Are You Ready?" Good question. Serious question. And one which, no doubt, has registered as barely a blip on the collective minds of busy, technologically driven Americans.

U.S. Marine Corps rocked by cheating scandal

Six Marine Corps officers wearing second lieutenant ranks have been accused of cheating during a nighttime land navigation course at Quantico, Virginia. It's a sad day when America's most-esteemed fighting force faces dings for something so sullied. America loves its Marines -- but the stain of cheating is a tough one to scrub.

Twitter’s shocking shrug on death message to Dana Loesch’s kids

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey swears by his mother's right hand that his social media empire does not lean left when it comes to purposely blocking conservatives but letting flow unhindered the thoughts of liberals. Yet a tweet that spoke in reverent tones of the need to murder the children of Dana Loesch, of the NRA, was A-OK to stay.

A female sociology professor at Northeastern University who penned a piece for The Washington Post in June that asked, "Why Can't We Hate Men?" and then went on to list the logical ways "we," in fact, both could and should, has been slapped with a sex discrimination complaint by a bunch of men. My, how the tables do turn.

John McCain’s death opens door on Obamacare repeal

Republicans in the Senate say John McCain's death has opened a door for a new Obamacare repeal vote, and are pressing Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey to appoint someone who swings that way. Better yet: Appoint someone who doesn't do like McCain and profess, right around election time, to hate Obamacare and promise its repeal and then, right around winning election time, vote to keep it intact.

Donald Trump’s just-right statement on John McCain

President Donald Trump put out a brief expression of sympathy for the family of John McCain in the aftermath of the Arizona senator's death -- and now, a couple media cycles later, it's like he unilaterally bombed North Korea, or purposely ran over a box full of kitties. But on this, Trump shouldn't be criticized. At least he's not a hypocrite.

Voters — the people who count — say Manafort, Cohen won’t hurt Trump

Rasmussen pollsters found that despite the widely shrill pantings of the anti-Donald Trump press, the Paul Manafort guilty verdicts and the Michael Cohen plea bargain won't matter when it comes to harming the president. The people who matter most are yawning at the Manafort-Cohen developments.
