All politics are local — and usually stupid

I started out in journalism in a quaint little place called Prince William County, Virginia. Back then, the late 1980s, the small county was a bedroom community for Washington. Now PWC has nearly a half-million residents and has helped pushed Virginia into the Democrats' column, but back then there were fewer than 200,000 residents and the state was solidly red.

Donald Trump is just protecting the presidency. The White House Correspondents' Dinner has become a weeklong party of excess. And the night, now a cross between the Oscars and "Meet the Press," has morphed into everything the press should hate -- a lovefest between reporters and the people they cover.

Media responds to Trump’s ‘fake news’ charge — by pumping out fake news!

President Trump, in his extraordinary press conference last week, called out the media for its brazenly biased reporting. In the 77-minute presser, he dissected their stories, called out the incessant tone of "anger" and "hatred" and clearly enunciated his view that the Trump White House is running just fine, no thanks to them.

With Obama gone, media crybabies mull boycotting WHCA dinner

When Barack Obama was in the White House, the political press corps celebrated with him once a year at a ritzy, A-list-only five-course dinner and laughfest inside the Washington Hilton ballroom. Celebrities from Hollywood jetted into town to join America's top media as major news outlets tried to outdo one another with outlandishly lavish parties.
