House to vote on immigration Thursday

If Democrats want to stop family separations at the border, they'll get their chance in the vote on the House GOP's new compromise immigration bill, now slated for Thursday night, Speaker Paul D. Ryan said Wednesday.

Medicaid fraud exploded after Obamacare expansion: GOP report

Medicaid fraud has risen and bogus payments have more than doubled since Obamacare expanded the government's chief health insurance program for the poor, topping $37 billion a year, according to a new report released Wednesday by the Senate's chief watchdog committee.

Democrats no help to Donald Trump, Republicans on family separation issue

Republicans thought they'd found a solution Tuesday to the separation of illegal immigrant families on the border, announcing plans to let the families stay together in Homeland Security detention facilities while they await deportation. But Democrats quickly shot down any thought of signing on, saying they're in no rush to help Mr. Trump clean up the mess they say he's made.

Senate GOP promises family separation bill in ‘matter of days’

Senate Republican leaders said Tuesday they're rushing to try to pass a bill that would end family separations at the border, saying the solution is a middle-ground option that would keep parents out of jail but instead put them into family facilities where they can be held with their children.

President Trump said Tuesday that he's compelled to 'take the children away' from parents at the border in order to follow through on prosecuting illegal border jumpers, and blamed reporters for being complicit with human smugglers carrying the children to the border.
