A poll shows Rep. Michele Bachmann, Minnesota Republican and the sponsor of the latest bill to repeal President Obama’s health care overhaul, is effectively tied with Democrat Joe Graves in her re-election bid.

Mrs. Bachmann, currently embroiled in a campaign finance investigation, trails Mr. Graves 47 percent to 45 percent in a poll conducted by the Democratic firm Public Policy Polling and obtained by Politico. The survey’s margin of error was 4.4 percentage points.

Mrs. Bachmann, who sought the Republican presidential nomination last year, defeated Mr. Graves by 1.2 percentage points, or about 5,000 votes, in the 2012 election for her House seat.

The survey of 500 voters was conducted Wednesday, just before Mrs. Bachmann started airing television ads highlighting her role in introducing the “Obamacare” repeal bill, according to Politico.
