Kudos to the top congressional members who recently proposed bills to support Taiwan's observer status in the International Civil Aviation Organization. The bills were proposed by Sen. Royce, California Republican and chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.

The Senate confirmed the nomination of John F. Kerry to be secretary of state by a near-unanimous vote on Tuesday, with just three Republicans refusing to join an otherwise bipartisan chorus of support for the five-term Democratic senator from Massachusetts.
