The Nationals have taken a 3-1 lead on the Orioles thanks to one titanic blast from Adam Dunn and one costly bobble by Matt Wieters.
Dunn absolutely crushed an 0-2 fastball from David Hernandez in the fourth inning, sending it 442 feet to right field. It landed on Eutaw Street and then one-hopped the B&O Warehouse. According to the Orioles, it’s the 50th home run to land on Eutaw Street, and according to longtime observers here, it’s one of only a handful that have hit the Warehouse on one hop. The only man, of course, ever to hit the building on the fly was Ken Griffey Jr. during the 1993 All-Star Home Run Derby.

Washington scored its other run in the sixth, when Anderson Hernandez laced a sharp single up the middle after fouling off several 0-2 pitches. Pat Listach waved Josh Willingham around third, and though Adam Jones fired a bullet to the plate that would have gunned Willingham down, Wieters dropped the ball.
Meanwhile, John Lannan has pitched well, avoiding disaster by pitching his way out of several jams and settling down nicely here in the middle innings. He’s only got 84 pitches through six, looks like he’ll stay in for a while longer.
