Maryland coach Ralph Friedgen fully anticipated a return for Tony Logan this week from a shoulder injury.
And since he’s been wearing the normal white offensive jersey rather than the green noncontact jersey/indicator of medical malady, there was no reason to disagree.

But it turns out Logan has been limited the last two days, and that means he may again yield his punt return duties to Kenny Tate on Saturday.
“Tony yesterday didn’t practice and didn’t practice today,” Friedgen said. “He’s in a white shirt. I don’t know why he’s not practicing. Obviously he must still have some pain in there. If that’s the case, I’d probably still go with Tate.”
Tate looked like a capable option on Saturday. And while Logan isn’t quite the irreplaceable part that tackle Bruce Campbell is, it makes sense to take things slow at this stage of the season and ensure players can heal up for the bulk of the season rather than rush a return that ultimately leads to more lost time.
