Maryland will face Monmouth at home on Dec. 12 in basketball, according to a schedule released by the New Jersey school.

The Hawks went 12-20 in their first season under King Rice last year, splitting their final 24 games after an 0-8 start. Monmouth finished with an RPI of 236, its best season-end figure in that category since 2006.


Maryland is 2-0 all-time against Monmouth, with the most recent meeting a 91-55 rout on Dec. 11, 2001 —- early in the Terrapins’ national championship season.
