While Bruce Boudreau didn’t want to commit to Mike Green and Jeff Schultz playing tomorrow, citing the other guys who have come back too quickly from injuries, it does appear that the wheels are in motion for them to be on the ice against the Maple Leafs.

Bryan Helmer has indeed been sent back to Hershey, so that leaves only five healthy defensemen on the current roster. If Green comes off IR and Schultz comes of LTIR for tomorrow, the Caps will need to open up another spot on the 23-man roster.

One move could be putting Tomas Fleischmann on IR. Boudreau said he has a slight case of pneumonia and is being kept away from the other guys to prevent him from passing it other guys.

Also on the injury front, John Erskine said the only hurdle left for him in his comeback from a concussion is contact. He is skating at 100 percent and he said everything feels great. He will go see a team doctor on Monday and he hopes to be cleared for full contact.
