Parking was a nightmare this morning — another full house here at K-Plex plus a public skate on the other rink equals a mad house.

The Caps are underway with practice and the notable absence is Karl Alzner (saw him in the parking lot a few minutes ago — he was also having trouble finding a spot). His wrist/hand was all wrapped up — more on his status in a bit. No defenseman has been called up, so that could be a good sign. Simeon Varlamov is also not on the ice, but is still on the roster. Donald Brashear appears to have the day off.

The same cannot be said for Alexandre Giroux, who has been demoted to Hershey and replaced with Chris Bourque. Giroux is here and practicing right now though.

Here are the lines:

Theodore and Johnson are in the nets.

There are only five defenseman on the ice (Green, Morrisonn, Schultz, Jurcina and Collins).
