Well, Bruce Boudreau was bemoaning the lack of secondary scoring yesterday for the Caps, so this move makes a lot of sense. Keith Aucoin is lighting up the AHL, so the Caps recalled him and sent Graham Mink back to Hershey.

Aucoin has a league-leading 36 points (nine goals) for the Bears this season, and had 13 points (five goals, eight assists) in 38 games for the Carolina Hurricanes last year. Mink had an inspired first game with the Caps, racking up four shots in less than 10 minutes, but he wasn’t much of a factor against the Panthers on Tuesday.

Mike Green and Tom Poti are on the ice right now practicing, but I don’t see Sergei Fedorov or Alexander Semin. John Erskine was watching practice from the benches.
