Fans of the Capitals Report know Brett “Stretch” Leonhardt well, and today he will make his second appearance in net during practice for the Washington Capitals. Stretch was a college goalie once upon a time (it wasn’t that long ago), and he practiced with the team once last year. So if your at practice today, that really tall guy at the end opposite Jose Theodore, it is not Dan Dunn or some other guy the team has in for a tryout.
I’m burying the lead here of course. Brent Johnson is not going to practice because of his hip injury that happened last night in Raleigh. It does not appear that there will be a goalie called up today, though there could be one later today or tomorrow if needed.
