Here is what Bruce Boudreau had to say about Alex Ovechkin leaving practice early today:

“He’ll be OK. He’ll be playing Friday. It is nothing serious at all, but it would be prudent for me to not say why he went off the ice.”

Eric Fehr changed jerseys and moved up to the top line in place of Ovechkin. Alexander Semin was also absent today, so Boyd Gordon was filling in for him on the second line. Boudreau said he “was not feeling well.”

The Caps are off tomorrow before returning to practice on Thursday morning at K-Plex.
