Shaone Morrisonn said he is playing tomorrow night for the Caps against the Buffalo Sabres. Morrisonn missed the game in Edmonton with a lower-body injury, which was actually from two games prior at Colorado.
He loaded up on pain killers so he could play in his hometown of Vancouver. Morrisonn said the extra time between games helped and he feels much better for tomorrow night.

Brian Pothier left practice early today. Yesterday he said he felt like he was pretty close to returning. Today, Bruce Boudreau said he thought Pothier was trying to rush back and will need some more time.
Semyon Varlamov participated in the full practice today (he was only the ice at the end yesterday). Boudreau said he expects Varlamov to play next week, but isn’t which game. The Caps are at home against Carolina and then travel to San Jose and Los Angeles.
Boyd Gordon practiced after missing yesterday because his equipment wasn’t here. He left Vancouver on Friday night and didn’t get back to DC until Sunday night — he had been trying to get to Hershey to play for the Bears on Sunday.
He said he doesn’t know if he’s going to Hershey this weekend for a conditioning assignment or not, and Boudreau said he needs to consult with GM George McPhee on the matter.
