Alex Ovechkin has gone to the dressing room after crashing into the boards. His head/right shoulder slammed into the boards after he was hooked by Boston’s Zdeno Chara and he lost his balance.

He was one the ice for about 90 seconds and sat on the bench momentarily, before standing up rotating his shoulder akwardly a few times before tossing his gloves and slamming his helmet on the ground in the tunnel rn route to the locker room.

A good portion of the Boston fans were chanting the common expletive that fans chant at bad penalty calls that I can’t write on here (hint: the first syllable is bull) and then were booing while Ovechkin was on all fours on the ice. They must not have been convinced he was injured. They were also upset with the penalty call, but Chara was getting tagged for hooking before Ovechkin started to stumble.

UPDATE: Ovechkin came back on the ice with the team for the start of the third period. A team spokesman said he is OK.
